Quickly becoming a popular destination for children, the new Solomon Calhoun Community Center opened in April, 2009. St. Johns County had desired a competitive pool for years. They received that and more with the Junior Olympic-sized pool aquatically engineered by Aquatic Design & Engineering (ADE). The entire project was headed up by Fred Halback of Halback Design Group. Based upon our nearly 20-year working relationship with Halback Deign Group, Fred selected ADE to become the prime engineer of record for all the aquatics at this landmark site. Included in this project was a specialized “Learn-To-Swim” training area adjacent to the Junior Olympic-sized dual lap lane Competitive Pool, and a Splash Zone interactive water feature. |
|
ADE provided services for the competition pool, practice pool and wet deck interactive water feature. These services included: hydraulic, structural, filtration and feature pumping systems, chemical systems, heating, underwater lighting and utility coordination services. |
