A letter from Founding Principal Ken Martin

April 10, 2013

Dear Friends and Development Partners,

I am very pleased to share with you an update on the exciting changes happening here at Aquatic Design & Engineering.  As many of you know, for more than 26 years, I have had the privilege of leading ADE as its President & Managing Director. Over that time, the company has helped create some of the most amazing swimming pools and water features in the world.

In the last five years, ADE has been transitioning to the next generation of leadership.  Many firms do not get the opportunity that ADE has had to successfully plan for the future and a leadership transition.  We have been very intentional and thorough in how we have prepared for this move. Today, I am pleased to announce that as of April 10th 2013, my son Josh Martin, will be the taking over as the new President of Aquatic Design & Engineering.  Josh has served as the Chief Operating Officer for the last four years while training under me in preparation for the transition to the role of President. He is excited to take on this new position and is fully committed to the vision of ADE.  It is rewarding for a father to see his son have the same passion for the business as I did, but I can truly say that Josh has been the backbone of our firm for the last few years, and I am excited to see where he leads the company.

This is not a retirement letter, but it is a transition letter.  I will be transitioning to the role of Founding Principal, where I will oversee our engineering team and the QA/QC reviews.  I will continue to serve as a member of our Senior Governance Team, our firm’s board of directors, and contribute to the continued success of ADE.

More than 26 years ago, I founded ADE as a boutique engineering shop that has evolved into a world-class aquatics design firm with more than 1,800 completed projects. I am honored to have had such amazing development partners to work with, and I look forward to serving each one of you in this new role.  Here’s to, at least, another great 26+ years of exciting projects under Josh’s leadership.

ADE Featured in American Builders Quarterly

October 23, 2012

It’s not every day that a company in our sector can tell its story to the national architectural and construction industry in one fell swoop.  So when we were contacted by American Builders Quarterly to be covered as one of the magazine’s feature stories, we were grateful for the opportunity.

We invite you to look inside the Oct/Nov/Dec issue of American Builders Quarterly for a special article on the evolution of Aquatic Design & Engineering and the marquee projects we’ve had the privilege to complete.

From our early beginnings designing the pools for Walt Disney World’s on-site resorts to our latest achievements overseeing the completion of some of the largest water features in the world, our family company has evolved into a specialized firm whose team of professionals is dedicated to ensuring each project’s success.

ADE has been proud to help shape industry standards for aquatic design, and we want to take the time to thank all of our development partners who have given us the opportunity to enhance their projects with unique elements all around the world.

We hope you enjoy learning a little more about our company through this article in American Builders Quarterly.
